What is "Non Emergency Medical Transport"?

Non Emergency Medical Transportation provides a means for people who don’t have access to transportation get to and from their medical services. Trips are non-emergency, implying that there is no immediate health threat to the person, and no critical care resources such as, life support, are required in the vehicle during the trip. People may require NEMT for a slew of reasons, including: lack of a valid driver’s license, lack of a wheelchair or gurney accessible vehicle, location, or not being able to take traditional transportation. Essential Health Transport is here to ensure that people have access to medical services, preventative health and avoiding any Hospital Readmissions. 

EHT provides transportation to Ambulatory, Wheelchair and Gurney patients needing services anywhere in LA and Ventura County.

All of our drivers are assessed and temperature checked daily prior to any transport. They are all CPR and first aid certified. All of our vehicles are equipped with state of the art technology with automatic and hydraulic lifts to ensure patients get into our vehicles safely and with minimal contact. Currently, our company policy is transporting only one patient (including their caregiver) per vehicle so that social distance is maintained. All of our vehicles are deep cleaned and sanitized thoroughly using hospital grade alcohol wipes before and after each patient transport. We also offer masks, gloves and sanitizer for all transports to ensure all safety precautions are met.
